Anthem Church | Vista CA

Anthem Church Logo & Branding

Anthem Church in Vista, CA came to us to refresh their existing logo (which we designed back in 2017), and create a new brand identity for their children's ministry.

The flag concept was originated in partnership with JerseyMade and lead pastor, Chase Feindel - we used this imagery of planting your flag and claiming a place as your anthem and the duel meaning of claiming an area for your faith. So, when it came time to refresh and broaden the brand, we did not want to lose the icon, only refine and modernize it.  We also wanted an internal version of the logo and external - internally the word church is implied, people are in a church, they came to church but when referring to yourself as 'Anthem Church' it feels redundant. So, we have one version as 'Anthem' and the main external logo includes 'church' that speaks to potential church-goers.

Color and texture were just as important as the logo - we wanted to feature as much color theory as possible to give their internal design team options when putting together marketing materials. The textures also help that team turn simple messaging into compelling design - woodgrain, fabrics, and distressed halftone patterns all work together in harmony.

Logo Application & Messaging

It's one thing to design a new logo, it's another to see it in action. A part of this branding project we showcased it's real-world applications in signage, email and social media to the client so they could see how robust the new brand was.

Children's branding is the second most important brand to the church. The Barna Group has conducted research on the importance of Children's Ministry and finds over half of all parents use this as the deciding factor in church selection

This is why we highly recommend churches devote part of their branding budget to children's design.  One, to create thoughtful brand, and two, to design a logo that can points back to the overarching brand. This gives the churches internal design team an advantage in creating distinctive design elements that help communicate mission to first-time guests.
